I like to frame each of my tiny miniature paintings myself and finish each frame to compliment its painting... ...so each frame is built up with layers of gesso...  ...then layers of coloured bole (a fine clay base)...  ...before it's water gilded in 22 carat gold leaf...  ...burnished...  ...and then lightly distressed, painted and finally polished in beeswax.  |
